Meet Attendance and Results

Hi, Congrats on a win at Worcester, our only tri-meet of the season. We swept every age group and won every single relay! The personal best ribbons are out in the family folders. Attached is the current meet attendance log. Those who have attended no meets may not miss another meet. Remember, every swimmer is required to attend 5 of the 8 regular season meets to attend sectionals (and attend sectionals to attend nationals). Those who do not meet this minimum requirement of 5 meets is considered not meeting their  team commitment and is dropped from the team roster. They may no longer attend practices or meets.  Of course there is an exception for documented illnesses or injuries, feel free to contact me with any concerns. Sincerely, Coach Carol

Weekly Check in November 27

Hello Team, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the break! There is no meet this weekend. High School Swimmers Only: The Captains have been working to plan activities for the HS swimmers (grades 9-12). The first is Funday Friday Pool Party (much like BMHS’s Varsity Team’s Funday Monday... but on a Friday) on Friday December 22 from 6:3-8:30. More info to come. Team Contact List: Attached is the swimmer contact information that parents opted to share through the optional sign up. Please do not share this list outside of the team. Practice Schedule Updates: There will be no practice on Sunday 12/24 - 1/2 for the Holiday Break, practice resumes 1/3/18. Training Videos: Last week we did not have video training due to the Holiday. This week’s theme is flip turns and I strongly recommend your swimmer watch the training we would have watched: Free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eg_PX0TVQE Back turns https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A64l62

Weekly Check in for November 12th

Hello Team, At home meets spectators  must not stand in front of the stands or in front of the the doorway. I know it is crowded but swimmers and judges must have the walkway free and for safety reasons the doorway must be clear. It would help if  those sitting did not store purses, swim bags, drinks… on the seats. Leave them in cars, in the locker, with the swimmers or under the seats. We are looking to find ways to provide more seating. Nashua was a WIN and we had a tie against Waltham. We had a tie in that we each won 2 age divisions and tied the last. The tie breaker was also a tie; however, we had the most points overall. DQs: The DQ sheets went out into folders. Please make sure you and your swimmer read the note and if you are unsure what it means please come see me, Nikita or Joe to review. Dqs happen, but the swimmers need to know what they did to learn from it. We had a lot of disqualifications over our breaststroke kick and pull so we will revisit it as a

Change Change in Submissions for 11/18 Meet

Hello Team, Change is request submissions for the 11/18 meet: All requests (both Attendance and "You be the Coach!") for the 11/18 meet must be submitted by: 6 pm Sunday November 12th. I apologize for the change. As some of you may have noticed, I have been limping a bit... I have a torn meniscus in my knee which needs a repair. I had surgery scheduled for Friday the 17th and due to a scheduling issue at the hospital it was moved up to Wednesday, which is when I start to write the meet. I now need to have all requests in by 6 pm Sunday so that I may put the meet together before my surgery. I am sorry for any inconvenience . Below are the links for attendence and You be the Coach requests: You be the Coach!: At the Worcester & Charlestown Tri-Meet on November 18th our swimmers will be allowed to select one solo event that they would like to compete in. Selections must be made by November 12th at 6 pm. The event must be in their age group (sorr

Team Contact List

Hello Team, One of our very experienced parents (thank you Heidi!) suggested we create a contact list to help families get to know and support one another on our very large team. Of course the sharing of contact information is a tricky thing, so we decided to create a sign up so you can opt in to be, or not to be, on the contact list.  Information collected on this sign up will be emailed to the team. Please do not share this list outside of the team. There are several items to fill in, feel free to fill in only the ones you would want share with the rest of the team. Also feel free not to participate at all! The sign up will be open until November 19th so that I may include it in the Weekly Check In for the week of the 20th. Follow the link if you would like to included in the Team Contact List:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0e4aa8a82ba2fc1-team1 Thank you, Coach Carol

Caps are In!

Hi, I should have waited one more minute for sending the Weekly Check in as the cap order is in. If you ordered a team cap, you may pick it up in the team office.  Thank you, Coach Carol

Weekly Check in November 6th

Hello Team, Our meet against Nashua went well although we do not have the official results. Nashua just reentered our league and this was the first meet they have hosted. The computer failed for a bit and they need to type in all of the results that we taken by hand. When I get the data file I will be able to generate personal best ribbons.  Nashua will also mail us  place ribbons when they sort things out, so they may be delayed a bit. I will email the team when both personal best and place ribbons have gone into the family folders, which are stored in the file cabinet on the pool deck. After home meets ribbons are usually in the folders by the end of the meet and away meets by the middle of the week. As a note most parents/swimmers keep a personal best log that they update every time they get a personal best ribbon as it is an update of their top times. We do not post the result times to everyone on the team as not everyone likes their times read by everyone else and we do n

Gift for our Sea Wolves Swimmers!

As we approach our first meet the team has a small token of appreciation for each of our swimmers.  They are in the pool office and we ask that you stop by when you are next in to have a staff member help you check out yours (please do not just find yours and take it as we are tracking who has picked up). Thank you Coach Carol
