Weekly Check in October 29th
Hello Team,
We will be getting a timing system!!!!!!! Thank you everyone for your support. We hope to have the system in and set up in about 4 weeks. We may have a practice meet to test it out, more information coming.
First Meet: Nashua, report in at 10:45am at 1 Positive Place, Nashua, NH 03060
Meet Requests: Reminder all meet requests (not attending, leaving early, coming late and van) must be submitted by 9 pm on the TUESDAY before the meet.
The sign ups are at the meet schedule site: https://www.billericabgc.com/meet-information. If there is no request it is assumed you attend on time.
Injury requests: As we approach our first meet of the season I am sure there are a few swimmers who due to an injury may not do a particular stroke: for example a child with a recent knee injury may not be able to do breastroke. They may also have things they may not do in practice that we should know about.
Please submit a parent or doctor note clarifying the limitations so that we may add it to the file. Please include a timeline of when your child is expected to recover.
Return swimmers: We cannot use your note from last year, please submit a new one if your injury persists.
Meets: The first meet will be in Nashua.
Practice Meet: The new swimmer practice meet went very well. Everyone did great on their first solo and relays races. We even had 3 swimmers put in a qualifying time for nationals (official qualifying times are not yet official for this season but they met last year’s requirements for a solo event): Arron Hughs, Siena Oliveri and Aadti Janu. What a great way to way to start the season!
Once official qualifying times are posted we will have a display in the club of all swimmers who have met a qualifying time. Please keep in mind a swimmer must meet two official times and submit a Letter of Intent by November 9th to attend. Official times will be posted when available.
Practice Updates: There will be no practice on:
Halloween (10/31)
Election Day (11/7) as there is no school in Billerica
Day of Observation for Veterans Day (11/10).
Video Training:
There were no videos this week.
Nationals: Letters of Intent due November 9th.
2018 Official qualifying times are not yet posted. Once they are we will post a display of all swimmers who have met a qualifying time, regardless if they hope to attend nationals or not. However, even if your child is on the display they must have submitted a letter of intent by November 9 to be considered for attendance.
